Stroke Treatment Resources
A specialised stroke physiotherapist working together with you can make all the difference
I don't think that we can replace hands on treatment of spasticity, ataxia, joint stiffness, muscle soreness and pain after stroke. I believe that there are no bad exercises that you can do. Just ones that can be performed more accurately. And without pain. It's a tricky thing to try to do.
I have spent over four decades developing and learning a very "hands on" approach to stroke physiotherapy. Here I want to add resources that help people who can't get access to our service directly.
We also want to be able to help case managers, solicitors, occupational therapists and expert witnesses to know what we are working on with our patients.
Technological Solutions or Hands on Treatment after stroke or head injury.
The team at Ottobock have spent many years developing the technology and design. It won't suit everyone but we can arrange a trial at their expense, to find out if this technology will help you. Just give us a ring or send a message.
And if you're a case manager or solicitor helping someone after a stroke or head injury, we'd like to let you know that this is just one example of the type of work that we are doing here at Ships Physio. We can provide a very hands on service, and assess and advise for people to use technology like the L300 Go and Go Plus from Ottobock. An individual mixture of hands on, and hands off approaches, is the best way forward.
We also have experience with other companies' technologies too. If this isn't for you, we can advise you individually.
And for some, that may even mean a full robotic exoskeleton, like the Re Walk. We can work with you on that too.
